(Official website: http://crossgene.net/) (Official twitter:https://twitter.com/cross_gene) Biography Pre-debut On May 26, 2012, Amuse Korea Entertainment revealed that they would be debuting a multinational group, consisting of South Korean, Japanese and Chinese members.Among them was Shin Won-ho, an actor who appeared in television dramas and advertisements, the latter of which earned him the CF Model Award at the 7th Asian Model Festival Awards.The entertainment company explained the meaning behind the group's name, stating that the group would "cross the superior genes of each country to create one perfect group". Cross Gene consists of three South Korean members, two Chinese members, and one Japanese member. 2012–present: Timeless: Begins On June 7, the group held their first showcase at the Ax Korea concert hall. They released their first mini-album Timeless: Begins on June 8. Ten days later, a limited edition version of the mini-album was released. Timeless: Begins debuted at number nine on the Gaon weekly albums chart, and peaked at number eight the following week. Cross Gene is scheduled to promote in Japan as well. Amuse Korea announced the boys’ new endorsement deal by revealing on July 6th, “NBA has chosen CROSS GENE as the exclusive models for their 2012 F/W season line.” NBA focuses on turning sports into fashion, culture, and style, and is a licensed brand with over 30 characters and mascots of the NBA teams. NBA merchandise is sold in over 100,000 stores across six continents all around the world, and plenty of top Korean stars have modeled for them in the past. As CROSS GENE is known for being comprised of three Koreans and two Chinese members along with one Japanese member, the company felt that they’d be the perfect fit to represent their brand. | Korean-Chinese-Japanese group CROSS GENE has participated in their first ever pictorial for ‘Nylon‘ magazine. The men have shed their charismatic debut concept for a lovelier, more youthful look filled with bright pops of colors that show off their individual charms. As leader Takuya has an ample amount of pre-debut modeling experience, he pulled off an all yellow look with relative ease. Shin added a cute look to his black suit by adding a hat while Casper, Yongsuk, Sangmin, and J.G. differentiated themselves with loud colors like red, orange, and green. As the group stands at a tall average height of 180 cm, they all look like professional models upon first glance. | Idol group Cross Gene transformed into dandy gentlemen for the August publication of Elle Girl magazine. Each of the Cross Gene members donned grey-toned ensembles that best suited their individual fashion styles for this particular shoot. Members Shin and Takuya who took a few photos together showcased their charming appeals, sporting their trench coat and cardigan fashion. Takuya who used to model in Japan displayed his natural modeling abilities, impressing the staff members by striking just the right poses and gazing expertly into the camera. During the interview that took place following the shoot, the members could not hide their pride and affection for their title song “La-Di Da-Di“. “There is an oriental appeal of the three different countries that only Cross Gene is able to display,” the members explained. | Korea-China-Japan’s Asian unit group Cross Gene unveiled their debut album called “Timeless Begins.” Cross Gene stands for the crossing of dominant genes of each county and is made up of 3 members from Korea, 2 members from China and 1 member from Japan. | They opened the showcase with their title track 'La-Di Da-di', and performed 'Sky High', 'For This Love', and 'My Lady', showing their great vocal and dancing skills. Each members previously debuted in their home countries, and their new songs are already being played as CF background songs and drama OSTs in Hong Kong and Japan. Korean member, Shin, also drew people's attention by casting in KBS 2TV drama 'Big' and high school student 'Kang Kyungjoon'. Leader, Takuya, said, "We really don't feel anything yet, but we are glad to perform in front of people." Casper said, "I hope we can be #1 in Asia. I also hope we will be go on a world tour," and expressed his strong will and passion. Because CROSS GENE is composed of members from three different countries, it seems that they will be able to develop into global superstars. |
