GROUP BOYBAND KOREA

oneday is formed from a reality show M.Net Hot Blood Documenter (for more about Hot Blood member and the documentary, see “about Hot Blood”). Consist of 7 members, Jaebum as (ex) leader, Junsu, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Junho and Chansung. They sing in dance genre, and make a different performance from other idol by adding acrobatic moves to their dance. Debut at September 4, 2008 with song 10 Points out of 10 Points (10점 만점에 10점). They have several other hit single like Only You, Again&Again, I Hate You (니가 밉다), Heartbeat and Tired of Waiting (기다리다 지친다). They have been topped in a music show’s chart with single Again&Again, I Hate You (니가 밉다) and Heartbeat. 2PM was also releasing several other single featured on other artists’ song or for CF and OST. After Jaebum quit from 2PM and left Korea on September 2009, 2PM continue their activity without their leader. He has to leave 2PM due to his myspace controvercy for making a comment in 2005, that insulting Korea. As for the group (from September 2009 when Jaebum left until February 2010), no one replacing the leader spot on 2PM. It’s left empty because there’s still a chance that he will coming back as 2PM’s member and leader. But as annouced at 25th February 2010, Jaebum is stated that he’s permanently quit from 2PM because some “personal mistakes” (that can’t be revealed) occured during Again&Again promotion, and currently there’s no new leader appointed in 2PM nor a plan that a new member will be added into 2PM (read more about this controvercy at Jaebum’s profile). On April 22nd, 2010, 2PM is back active again to promote the song Without U and Don’t Stop Can’t Stop.

On May 23, 2006 SM Entertainment announced the addition of a new member, Cho KyuHyun, making them the 13 member group they are today.
Before their official debut, Super Junior was already a hot topic over the Internet. News broke about SM Entertainment’s unprecedented plans of forming a large 12 member group. Rumors about the identity of the members as well as the group’s name circulated for months. For awhile, many speculated that they were going to be known as “Common Ground.” Another speculation claimed that the band was going to be called “O.V.E.R” (Obey the Voice for Each Rhythm). Big Bang (Korean: 빅뱅; commonly stylized as BIGBANG) is a popular South Korean boy group formed by CEO Yang Hyun Seok of YG Entertainment in 2006, one of the largest entertainment companies in Asia. Big Bang is considered to be one of the most successful South Korean music groups both within and outside Asia. The group consists of leader G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri.

Big Bang is one of Asia's most successful acts and has been labelled as the "Revolutionary Group of Hallyu Wave" and "South Korea's Most Wanted" for their unique urban-originated music and flamboyant fashion
style compared to other boy bands and girl groups. They have been also coined as Hallyu wave's leading boy group due to their immense popularity, remarkable success, and influence worldwide.

Since their debut, Big Bang had already released several successful singles, extended plays, and studio albums. Although their first full-length album, BigBang Vol. 1, did not fully captivate the general audience due to their attempt of the hip hop and R&B genres, they later found success with their first extended play, Always, released in 2007, nearly a year after their debut. The extended play spawned their first no. 1 hit Lies, which stayed on the top spot on various music charts for seven consecutive weeks. Since the fame of Seo Taiji and Boys, Big Bang was the first rookie group to be placed as no. 1 for a month-long period. Late in the same year, Big Bang received the "Best Male Group" and "Song of the Year" awards for Lies at the 2007 Mnet Asian Music Awards.

The follow-up extended plays, Hot Issue and Stand Up, were also similarly successful, spawning no. 1 hits Haru Haru and Last Farewell. After they had received the "Artist of the Year" award from the 2008 Mnet Asian Music Awards and the "Seoul Gayo Daesang" award from the 2008 Seoul Music Awards, the group expanded their endeavors and activities to Japan, releasing several mini-albums and airplay singles. Their materials did not receive major promotion until the following year with the release of their first physical Japanese single, My Heaven. Since then, the group had attained considerable success and popularity all-over the country. They became the first foreign group in Japan to receive the "Best Newcomer" award from the Japan Cable Broadcasting Station.

In recent years, the members had branched out to do solo activities. Taeyang and G-Dragon had released solo materials while the remaining three had started acting in both dramas and musicals and participating in different variety programs.

After nearly two years of hiatus, representing the Asia-Pacific region, Big Bang emerged as the inaugural "Best Worldwide Act" winner at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards held at Belfast, Northern Ireland. There, apart from Queen, the group was the only winner not from North America and the first musical act in history to receive the prestigious award.

Starting on January 20, 2012, YG Entertainment released information on Big Bang's comeback and new mini-album through various teasers posted on YG-Life's official blog. It was later announced that the album would be titled Alive. On February 1, 2012, YG-Life revealed the album's full tracklist and release date, which was scheduled to be February 29, 2012. The mini-album has 6 different versions and includes 7 new tracks, including a solo song performed by Daesung, titled "Wings".

2011: Debut 'O.K'

B1A4 debuted on April 21, 2011 with their debut track 'O.K' off of their album 'Let's Fly' and released a music video. They were first introduced to the world through the creative marketing of webtoons before their actual pictures were released. Their debut album 'Let's Fly' includes a song written and composed by the leader Jinyoung. As rookies, this garners much interest being that most debut albums contain little input from the members.

A new 5-member boy band named “Boyz” is prepping to debut soon.
The group is from VIP Entertainment and originally their group name was supposed to be “VIP,” for obvious reasons.  However, due to Big Bang’s fanclub name being VIP, they decided to change the groups’ name to “Boyz.”
The names of the 5 members are, Enok, Noa, Yoondam, Junwon and Haru.

If you’re a fan of Hwanhee, you’ve most likely heard of his new boy group, MYNAME, who’s slated for their debut in just a few days. The group is considered his last present before he enlists in the army and many are highly anticipating whether the boys will make an impact on the industry like their senior was able to.
Comprised of members Chaejin, Joon Q, Seyong, Gunwoo, and Insoo, MYNAME boasts quite the history of experience despite their young age. Some might recognize Seyong, as he once starred in the drama, “I Believe in Love,” and was also a JYP Entertainment trainee.
As for one of the most important aspects of success, Seyong chose teamwork. “We’ve been rehearsing so much lately that we don’t even feel like we’re going to make our debut. Through my long years as a trainee, I’ve seen a lot of groups form and disband. In the end, I realized that if there’s no communication and teamwork, the group has no way to go but down. That’s why even after rehearsals, we’ll gather up and talk for at least 10 minutes before we fall asleep.”
Before Seyong dreamed of becoming a singer, however, he was on his way to becoming a soccer player. “I always wanted to play soccer and had decent talent in it. After receiving a casting offer from JYP, however, I gave up soccer. I honestly had no intentions of becoming a JYP trainee but their officials came all the way to Busan to scout me and my parents thought it’d be a good opportunity.”
Insoo is another recognizable face, as he was in “Superstar K2” and is also the best friend of MBLAQ‘sSeungho. Although he studied theater and film at Anyang High School, he was accepted to his school’s dance major, putting him at a sort of crossroads. For two years, he cried himself to sleep because he didn’t want to wear tights. Once he nailed a complex turn, however, he grew to love dancing and even majored in it in college.
“Superstar K2 was an opportunity for me to test myself. Since I kept being met with good results, it is true that I think I thought a bit highly of myself. I received a lot of casting offers from different agencies, but I wanted to join Hwanee’s so I ignored all of them and auditioned for his company. ‘Superstar K2′ was an opportunity for me to learn and grow,” Insoo revealed.
Gunwoo is the group’s leader. “Until now, I’ve never once failed in my life. I’m confident in our debut stage.” Gunwoo considers himself a lucky guy. Like Gunwoo and Seyong, he was a big soccer fanatic as a student. The reason he quit, however, is different. “Playing soccer makes me hot and I get too tanned from it…”
Member Joon Q topped portal searches for his striking resemblance to Lee Seung Gi. Behind his cute looks, however, is a bold laughter that rings in the room. He looks like he’d be the type to sing smooth ballads to win the hearts of nuna fans, but he’s actually the group’s rapper. “I began rapping in junior high while performing with a band. For some reason, I’m more partial to rap music than ballads.”
Maknae Chaejin lives up to his role of maknae and is quite babyish in his words and looks. His charm is his adorable eye smile. He’s not just an innocent soul, however, as he knows how to use his cute looks to his advantage. He revealed, “There are times when the hyungs will reprimand the dongsengs. When I make my eye smile, they can’t do anything. It’s my biggest charm, actually.”
Chaejin doesn’t have a cell phone and lives with the members in a dorm away from his parents. The members were quick to reveal that he’d cry sometimes because he missed his mom so much.”
Asked about their mentor and producer, Hwanhee, MYNAME turned serious. “Hwanhee not only puts a lot of emphasis on the quality of our music, but also our character. He always tells us not to get too cocky with our selves. There is pressure in the fact that he produced us but we love it and consider it an honor because of the impact he made in the industry. He’s nice when he has to be, but when it comes time to record, he’s strict and tiger-like. Recently, he told us to leave the studio because we hadn’t taken care of our vocals. That’s how detailed he is, and we’re very grateful for that.”
MYNAME will debut on October 27 on Mnet “M! Countdown” with “Message.”
