NU'EST (New Established Style and Tempo) (Hangul: 뉴이스트) is a South Korean boy group formed by Pledis Entertainment in 2012. They are also Pledis Entertainment's first male group, consisting of JR, Aron, Minhyun, Baekho and Ren. Their musical style is described as 'urban electro'. Before making their official debut, NU'EST members Aron, Minhyun, Ren, and Baekho were backup dancers for After School Blue's "Wonder Boy" MV, also performing in the live showcases. On the contrary, JR was featured in After School's Uee's debut song "SokSokSok". He appeared with a rap after the second chorus and also rapped throughout the end of the song. JR was also dubbed as "Bangkok boy" after appearing in Orange Caramel's "Bangkok City", while Minhyun starred in the music video of "Shanghai Romance". Baekho appeared in After School follow-up single music video "Play Ur Love". NU'EST was also featured on "Love Letter", a holiday single with label mates Son Dambi and After School. The artists later appeared on various stages to promote the single. Minhyun also appeared in labelmates' Orange Caramel's MV for "Shanghai Romance". The group made their second major unofficial appearance on December 29, 2011, by performing a shuffle dance with After School at the 2011 SBS Gayo Daejun. They even released a CF with label mate Lizzy. |

| NU’EST’s name is created from the phrase “Nu Established Style and Tempo.” They proved to be a popular group upon their debut with five handsome members and a forward-thinking concept based around dubstep sounds and complicated choreography. The group pushes these same ideals of their namesake, but tries to be bigger and better with their new ‘Action‘ EP. The release begins with “Not Over You” which has a great summer feel to it; similar to fellow labelmates Hello Venus’ “Like A Wave”. The dreamy, thumping dance production kicks off the EP on a great note. The electronic guitar strums have a similar sound to the pre-chorus sung by Colby O’Donis on the Akon track he’s featured on, “Beautiful”. (You might also remember BoA jumping on a remix of this track for Akon’s Japanese release of this album). Though it’s not the most striking piece of music, “Not Over You” is definitely a gem with the boys jumping from singing to rapping, as well as layering electronic elements that push the song forward and keep the pace nicely. |

| Rookie group NU'EST has done a photoshoot for the magazine April edition of 'Elle Girl' A. In this photoshoot, the five members: leader JR, Aron, Minhyun, Ren and Baekho have shown a lot of their characteristics and charms. There are no need for words with NU'EST, they seem to know each other very well and had shown off their perfect teamwork which had received praise from the staff. In the interview which was followed by the photoshoot, JR chose Kahi as his favorite senior from the same agency and said "She is an amazing leader and I think that she is a great dancer. I want to receive private dance lessons from her.". Minhyun chose After School's Uee as his favorite senior and added "I would like to be acknowledged in a variety of areas so I want to challenge myself as an actor, MC as well as a singer".
